Kara is an enrolled member of the Lower Sioux Indian Community who received her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education and Promotion with a minor in Psychology from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Being a runner for 10 years, she is passionate about health and wellness and instilling in others a sense of ownership over one’s health.
Kara will be the Community Health Education Specialist located in the Lower Sioux clinic. She will help others achieve their potential health and wellness through educational programs and guidance. She has experience and knowledge of planning and implementing health education strategies, interventions, and programs, and providing health education resources. Kara will also be responsible for fulfilling the duties of the Communities Eliminating Tobacco Inequities (CETI) funding from Blue Cross Blue Shield, focusing on reducing commercial tobacco use in the community through community-driven, culturally specific efforts.
