Jaidyn Probst (Bdewakaŋtuŋwaŋ Dakota wiŋyaŋ) is an enrolled citizen of Caŋšayapi (the Lower Sioux Indian Community) in southwestern Minnesota. She is the great-granddaughter of Evelyn Goodthunder and Albert Prescott, the granddaughter of Gary Prescott, and the daughter of Jackie Probst. She was raised within her community, and has worked for her tribe on-and-off since she was 15. She is an eldest daughter, eldest cousin, and a godmother, with many relatives she considers her nieces and nephews through her presence in the Twin Cities Native community.
Jaidyn graduated in May 2023 from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Neuroscience on the pre-med track, and in May 2025 from the University of Minnesota with her Master of Public Health degree. She has been a youth worker and advocate for almost a decade and is passionate about building healthy futures for Indigenous children and their families through Indigenous foods, traditional physical activities, and culturally-grounded mental healthcare. Over the course of the past two years, Jaidyn served the Indigenous population of Minneapolis/St. Paul area through various health and well-being initiatives and research projects. Jaidyn currently works as an Indigenous health researcher valuing community partnerships and culturally-grounded work.
She hopes to eventually attend medical school and become an OB/GYN so that she can return home permanently and serve her community and its future generations, and she views practicing as a doula as a meaningful first step. Jaidyn finds empowerment through health equity and reproductive justice movements and aims to intertwine perspectives from Indigenous feminisms into her work as a doula. She is dedicated to a person-centered approach, and her primary goal is that she and her clients can work together to develop the tools needed for each individual to feel as comfortable and safe as they can throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
If you or someone you know is interested in connecting with Jaidyn to speak about Indigenous full spectrum doula services, please see her contact information below.
