Shannon is currently the pharmacist for the tribal pharmacy located within the new Lower Sioux Health Care Center. She received both her undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and graduate degree as Doctor of Pharmacy from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Shannon has further training and knowledge in the management of hyperlipidemia, immunization administration, diabetic footwear, and medication therapy management.
Shannon has a worked for 15 years in a retail pharmacy practice. It included the role of traditional pharmacy dispensing of medications, as well as, in depth individual patient counseling sessions to address medication therapy and how it works with co-existing disease states. She has administered hundreds of vaccinations to the public, and has knowledge about various immunizations. She has experience in fitting custom diabetic footwear.
